I build apps, tools, games, and experiments that solve problems — or sometimes just make things a little more fun.

A new game: one office day

I’m making a new game, a comedy about one day at the office, for anyone who has ever watched the clock creep towards five. Its working title is 1659: Em về trước nhé! (“1659: I’m heading home first!”). The characters are drawn and the first scenes are in, with plenty still to build. For iPhone, iPad and Android, later on.

In development

Four office workers as the wall clock nears five: a young woman in a red helmet waves goodbye with her bag on her shoulder, while a colleague whispers to a startled young man holding an iced coffee, and a smiling older boss in a tie holds his flask.

A lantern kept for years

The story behind Du Long: a full-moon night with my daughter, a world of childhood lanterns, dragons drawn and redrawn, and a game rebuilt in 3D.

Read the story
Lantern dragons of five colours fly around a glowing full moon over the festival rooftops, fireworks bursting above, under the line Light up the Mid-Autumn sky.

Shell Keyboard made it to #1

It’s now #1 in the top paid Developer Tools apps for iPhone on the US App Store, up from #2 the day before. Esc, Ctrl, Alt, Tab, arrows, F1–F12 and the punctuation a shell actually needs, all on one screen, without ever asking for Full Access. Turns out quite a few people wanted that too. Thanks to everyone who gave it a try.

Apps in the Wild

Some experiments stay in a Git branch. These ones escaped into the real world.

Building tools to solve everyday problems, explore ideas, and scratch my own itch.

I like turning ideas into things people can use.

I've spent years working with software professionally, but I also enjoy building products independently — games, utilities, developer tools, music-related experiments, and whatever else seems interesting enough to turn into code.

For me, development isn't only about writing software. It's the entire loop.

How I Build

Build

Turn vague ideas into something tangible quickly.

Refine

Iterate on interaction, details, edge cases, and things users probably shouldn't notice.

Ship

A project becomes much more interesting once somebody other than its developer can actually use it.

Learn

Every shipped product changes how the next one gets built.

The TechArtVN logo

Nguyen Nguyen, nuegyn, TechArtVN

Three names, one person: me. TechArtVN is the name I’ve built my own apps under. These days I mostly go by nuegyn instead.

So if you spot TechArtVN in an app’s details or in my email address, it’s still just me.
