Taktap on iPhone: the metronome playing at 120 beats per minute in 4/4, under the caption Precise to the sample.

Features

Timing you can trust

Every click lands on its exact sample, with no drift over hours of playing. 20–400 BPM in whole or tenth steps, tap tempo and favorite tempos. It keeps playing in the background, with latency calibration for Bluetooth and wired headphones.

Every meter, every feel

Any time signature, with groupings for odd meters: 7/8 as 2+2+3, 3+2+2 or your own. Subdivisions from eighths to sextuplets, dotted and gallop figures, swing from straight to hard. Five accent levels on every beat, silent beats, six sound sets, a spoken count-in and voice counting.

Trainers that build real skill

Tempo steps or ramps from one tempo to another. Silence drops bars out so you keep the time yourself. Accent moves the accents across the beat. Polyrhythm plays 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and more in two voices. Custom rhythms run over up to four bars.

Rhythm Accuracy

Tap, play MIDI or let the microphone listen to your instrument, and see how early or late you are, and how steady. The sound is analyzed on the device as it arrives and never recorded.

Practice that adds up

Sessions of several exercises, with pause, skip and repeat. A practice timer with a countdown and a reminder. History, goals, tempo bests and insights into how you practice.

Made for the stage

Songs with their own tempo, meter, sounds and count-in; tempo maps with sections and instant or gradual changes; setlists you can reorder, with a demo setlist to start from. Stage Mode shows a huge tempo, every beat with its subdivisions, the count-in, the bar and the feel, the next song a tap away. Locked against accidents: Stop is a short hold that fills as you press.

On the lock screen

While it plays, Taktap’s own panel sits on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island: the song or preset, tempo, meter and feel, your place in the setlist and the next song, with −/+ by your step and Stop. On stage it keeps only Next, so nothing on a locked phone can stop the band. The system player names the song too, and on stage its previous and next buttons move through your setlist.

Pedals and MIDI

Play hands-free with page-turner pedals, keyboards and MIDI controllers, including Bluetooth MIDI and network MIDI over your Wi-Fi. MIDI clock goes in and out, so Taktap can lead your gear or follow it.

Yours

No account, no ads, no tracking: everything stays on your device. Back up and restore everything to a file. iPhone and iPad, with light, dark and a high-contrast stage theme, in Ember, Ice, Lime or Mono.
