Privacy Policy

Shell SSH collects no data. Nothing at all.

There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind in the app.

No account

There is no account, no registration, and no sign-in to anything of mine.

Network

The only network connections the app makes are the SSH connections you start, to the servers you configured. There is no server of mine. I operate no backend for this app and receive nothing from it.

One technical detail, stated for accuracy: when a login is rejected, the app opens one further brief connection to the same server to ask which authentication methods it accepts, so it can explain the failure. It sends no credential on that connection, and it contacts no other host.

What is stored, and where

Hosts, snippets and trusted host fingerprints are stored on the device.

Passwords, private keys and key passphrases are stored in the iOS Keychain. They can optionally be locked behind Face ID or Touch ID.

Terminal output

Terminal output is never sent anywhere. It is drawn on the device and discarded. Nothing is logged off-device.

Privacy Manifest

The app's Apple privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking false and an empty NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypes. The only declared API use is UserDefaults, for the app's own settings (reason code CA92.1).

Links out of the app

Tapping the Shell Keyboard link inside the app opens the App Store, which is Apple's app and subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Nothing is collected from anyone, of any age.
