Support & FAQ

Honeytide brings your App Store sales, Google Play installs and sales, AdMob ad earnings and Google Analytics audience into one calm screen. It needs no account, has no server, and keeps your keys and figures on your device. Coming soon to iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 or later).

Version 1.0.0 is coming soon.

Getting started

  • Try it first: on the first screen, tap Try with sample data, right under the app’s name. A made-up month opens with every screen working, and nothing is downloaded. To leave, tap Connect on the sample banner, or Settings → Leave sample data and connect.
  • Any one source is enough: the App Store, or Google Play, AdMob or Google Analytics. Add the others whenever you like, from Settings → Sources.
  • The four tabs: Home (your month, with filters and Replay), Apps (each app by day and country), Forecast (where the month lands, and how it is calculated) and Settings.
  • Choose the period: tap the title on Home or Apps: Today, Yesterday, the last 7, 30 or 90 days, This month, Last month, Year to date, By year, or Custom range…. One choice applies to Home, Apps and each app’s screen. The chips under it filter by app, country, platform (Apple or Android), purchase type and device.

Connect the App Store

Honeytide reads your sales reports with an App Store Connect API key you create. The app walks you through six steps; here they are, so you can prepare the key on a computer first.

  1. In App Store Connect, open Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API → Team Keys. It’s easiest on a computer; the page works in Safari too.
  2. Tap +, name the key Honeytide and choose the Sales role. Not Admin: Honeytide only reads your sales reports.
  3. Download the key (a .p8 file) and import it in the app; its Key ID fills in from the file name. Apple lets you download a key only once, and once it is in the app you can delete the file.
  4. Copy the Issuer ID, shown above the list of keys, and add your vendor number: in App Store Connect, open Payments and Financial Reports, and it’s at the top left, next to your name.
  5. Tap Connect. Honeytide makes one test request to Apple before saving anything, and only then keeps the key, in this device’s Keychain.

Connect Google

Tap Continue with Google. One read-only sign-in covers Google Play, AdMob and Google Analytics, and you choose which to bring in. Each source can also use a different Google account: open it in Settings → Sources and choose Use another account.

Google Play reads the monthly report files Google writes to your reports bucket, so it asks for that bucket once:

  1. In Play Console, open Download reports (Statistics or Financial).
  2. Next to any report, tap Copy Cloud Storage URI.
  3. Paste it in Honeytide. The whole gs://pubsite_prod_… address is fine.

Common questions

Yesterday’s figures aren’t there yet.

The stores publish their official reports about a day after each day ends. Every number in Honeytide shows the day it is as of, and the next sync picks up the new day: pull down to refresh, or tap the sync button.

What does “est.” mean?

AdMob earnings and Google Play proceeds are estimates until the official numbers arrive, and are labelled “est.” until then. When Google publishes a month’s earnings report, that month switches to Google’s own figures.

How far back can I see?

Open Settings → Data & history to download up to twelve months of daily reports. App Store yearly totals reach back to 2008.

Why isn’t the forecast weighted by weekday yet?

The forecast weighs your weekdays once there are eight weeks of history. Until then it says so in its method note on the Forecast tab.

Is my App Store key safe?

It stays in this device’s Keychain and is never synced. The key itself never leaves the device: Honeytide sends Apple only a token signed with it. Give it the Sales role only, so it can read sales reports and nothing else.

What happens if I disconnect a source?

Honeytide asks whether to keep or delete the figures it downloaded from that source. Kept figures stay on Home, marked as not connected.

How do I move to a new device?

In Settings → Backup and export, tap Back up: one .honeytide file of everything except your keys and sign-in, optionally sealed with a passphrase. On the new device, choose Restore from a backup on the first screen, then connect your sources again. Export CSV, beside it, gives you transactions and a monthly summary for any range.

Can I lock the app?

Turn on Settings → Privacy → Require Face ID.

Does Honeytide collect my data?

No. There is no Honeytide server or account, and no in-app analytics or ads. The app talks only to Apple, to Google if you connect it (read-only), and to one exchange-rate service that receives currency codes. Settings → Delete everything removes every key and report from the device. Read the privacy policy.

Still need help?

Email me and I’ll do my best to help. Please include your device, its iOS version and which sources you connected. Never send your key or its .p8 file.
