App: Chordindex for iPhone, iPad, and Mac
Chordindex works entirely offline. No account, no analytics, no cloud sync, no third-party SDKs.
Data Collection
What is collected: Nothing. No personal data of any kind is collected, stored, or transmitted by the app. This strictly aligns with the app's App Store "Data Not Collected" privacy label.
MIDI & Hardware Access
MIDI is read only. The app reads note data from a connected keyboard or controller exclusively to identify chords. It never mutes, routes, or captures the instrument's actual audio signal, and never transmits MIDI data anywhere.
Bluetooth is used solely to receive notes from a paired Bluetooth MIDI keyboard. It is not used for any other purpose — there is no location tracking, no interaction with other peripherals, and no background scanning beyond MIDI device discovery.
Chordindex does not have microphone access, ever.
What Stays on Your Device
Chordindex saves your settings — the selected concert key, which instrument panels are shown, your theme, and the last MIDI source you chose — along with any chord entries you open or create in the built-in dictionary. All of it is stored locally on the device, is never uploaded, synced, or shared, and is removed when you delete the app. There is no iCloud or CloudKit sync and no server to sync with.
The app makes no network requests of any kind. It works in Airplane Mode, and nothing you play ever leaves the device.
Data Retention & Third Parties
Data Retention: Not applicable. Since absolutely no data is collected, there is no data to retain or delete.
Third Parties: None. The app does not integrate any third-party SDKs, frameworks, or tracking services.
